Gov. Ron DeSantis signed new legislation into law March 16 that amends Florida’s Live Local Act and offers housing developers additional concessions to jumpstart construction.

The new law, known as the “Glitch Bill,” addresses issues in the original legislation. The Live Local Act, enacted in June 2023, superseded local zoning regulations, provided tax incentives and increased density allowances for projects meeting housing thresholds.

A boat suspected in the death of 15-year-old Ella Adler in Biscayne Bay over the weekend has been seized by Florida Fish and Wildlife officers.

Chopper 4 spotted Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers by a boat behind a Coral Gables that matched the description of the vessel they were looking for. CBS News Miami's Peter D'Oench knocked on the home door but no one there wanted to say anything.

Family files lawsuit against Pompano Beach condo for failing to protect its residents

The family of a deceased man is suing a Pompano Beach condominium, which they said, is responsible for the death of their family member.

The family said 87-year-old Vincenzo Cammalleri died, and his friend is still badly ill, after getting infected with Legionnaires disease. This pneumonia spreads when a bacteria is inhaled or when contaminated water is swallowed.
